This is a song about welcoming spring by walking with my wife at Radnor lake…and admiring her beauty above that of the loveliness of the flowers. Spring beauties (the wildflower pictured here) are some of her favorites.
I had better post this before the season passes us by. As the song says, “Life is short, like springtime.”
Spring Beauty
It’s been a long, cold winter; so gloomy, grey, and drear
But now the clouds are parting, and signs of spring are finally here
On all the hills by the lakeside, wild flowers are going on a spree
But in my eyes all that I see is only ONE, spring beauty
How we’ve longed to stroll together through the canopy of trees
Serenaded by the chorus of singing birds and buzzing bees
Now life is short, like springtime, so we must work while it is day.
But everything in season, so take my hand, it’s time for play!
